Alyson Bowen (she/they) is a photographer living in Portland, Oregon. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Photography through the University of Central Florida’s School of Visual Arts & Design, she made the move West in search of something unfamiliar. Personal discovery and discomfort, social issues, and internal and external conflict often construct the basis of her work. These themes have played a large part in her endeavors throughout the Pacific Northwest. Her work has been included in several publications and exhibitions both nationally and internationally including the Fotofilmic JRNL, Creative Quarterly journal, Lightbox Photographic Gallery, PULP Gallery, Photographer’s Forum Magazine, Blue Sky Gallery's PNW Drawers, and “Growth” a solo exhibition in UCF’s gallery 202. Alyson is currently putting her efforts into film practices and exploring printing possibilities.
In 2021, Alyson launched Borderline Press, an independent publishing endeavor focused on limited edition artist zines, books, and prints.
